Over 300 individuals and small businesses in Leicester and Leicestershire generously donated to the Phoenix 2020: Be Part of It campaign. Their contributions allowed for the completion of an exciting multi-million pound expansion project, which opened in 2023. Phoenix now boasts four screen cinemas, superb new galleries and a stylish Café Bar, plus a fabulous roof terrace and more spaces for making and learning. As a thank you, the names of all of the donors have all been displayed at the venue, be that on-screen, on a seat, a door or a cinema.
The construction of the extension was captured by our time-lapse camera, and the Phoenix shared our final film on their website to engage with their donors and allow them to watch it being built. You can see it below.
We also created training films for Willmott Dixon, as part of their handover of the extension. These films show the operation of the facilties and each of the internal systems, from the air conditioning units to the solar PV system.
The expansion project is part of the Phoenix’s ambition to make inspiring film and art available to all.
