Waterbeach Cycle Bridge – New Time-lapse Film

Waterbeach Cycle Bridge

Can you use time-lapse to capture civil engineering projects? Yes, you can!

We recently captured the construction of a new Cycle Bridge for Urban&Civic, who designed and delivered it with Knight Architects, Stantec and GRAHAM Civil Engineering. As you can see from the film below, the project went ahead without a hitch and the new bridge looks amazing! The film is a fantastic lasting record of a job well done.

The new bridge over the A10 is part of Waterbeach, a stunning housing development with a wonderful vision incorporating community, nature and space. Set in a rich landscape of inherited woodland around a 23 acre lake, Waterbeach Barracks to the north of Cambridge city centre is built on the site of a former barracks and airfield.

The new bridge is a crucial part of the development’s active travel strategy. It connects the new town to the recently upgraded Mere Way, allowing for a direct, predominantly off-road route to Cambridge for cyclists and pedestrians, and increasing connectivity for residents and the wider community.

You can watch the installation of the bridge in the film below – and if you’d to talk to us about your next civil engineering project, get in touch today!
